A director's house, set above the fires.

In the late eighteenth century, something more precious than vines was found beneath Épinac: coal. For one hundred and fifty years, the village became a factory town.

When the fires went out, the stone remained. La Verrerie was not restored — it was kept. Herringbone parquet, period fireplaces, Rococo cast iron.
